Julien obtained his PhD in polymers and colloids physical-chemistry from Sorbonne Université in Paris, France. Between 2020 and 2024, Julien held a postdoctoral position in the Polymer Science group led by prof. Kamperman in the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. In his research, Julien drew inspiration from Nature to design and engineer advanced complex coacervate based materials. Tissue adhesives, tough hydrogels for soft electronics, 3D printable bio-inks and responsive emulsifiers micelles are the materials that have been the focus of Julien’s research. Since January 2025, Julien performs his research in the Biofabrication and Bio-instructive Materials group led by prof. Małgorzata Włodarczyk-Biegun to further develop microgels based 3D printable bio-inks.
